Paddle through serene mangrove tunnels as your guide shares insights about the region’s unique ecosystems, native wildlife, and vibrant marine life. Continue across the sparkling waters of Biscayne Bay toward Sandspur Island, where you’ll have time to explore sandy shores, observe coastal birds, and take in the natural surroundings. The journey then leads to a second secluded island featuring a beach ideal for relaxing, swimming, or snorkeling among tropical fish. Perfect for families and nature lovers, this experience blends education, exploration, and relaxation in Miami’s coastal paradise.

Your paddling adventure begins within beautiful Oleta River State Park, located along the northern edge of scenic Biscayne Bay. Led by an experienced guide, you’ll explore winding waterways while learning about the area’s rich history and diverse ecosystems. Along the way, keep an eye out for wildlife such as manatees, dolphins, herons, and other coastal birds that call the park home. The tour includes a relaxing mid-journey break, with possible stops at spots like Sandspur Island or Oleta’s peaceful Beach Cove, depending on the season and tides. Guests are encouraged to bring snorkeling gear, binoculars, and a sense of adventure. This experience is pet-friendly, kid-friendly, and cooler-friendly, with snacks available for purchase at the outdoor center.

Venture together for our monthly Full Moon Kayak Tour at Oleta River State Park under the light of the full moon. Follow our Tour Guides through a peaceful mangrove trail into the calm waters of the Intracoastal waterway then around Florida park's hidden treasure, Sandspur Island. The tour will reach Beach Cove for a short break. Upon arrival, we'll be greeted with S'mores & refreshments around the campfire. Then we'll paddle back to the recreational center to close our day. Guests are not obligated but are welcome to bring their own snacks and drinks for the rest stop at Beach Cove. We have had guests bring picnic baskets with charcuterie boards, wine, cake, games, instruments and even rings for proposals! We encourage you to be as creative as possible.
