Edinburgh Storytelling Walk Makars Court to Scott Monument
Join us - sometimes with one of our Golden Retriever tour guides - for a story-filled walk from Makars’ Court to the Scott Monument. We begin with Scotland’s literary legends, then head to the Edinburgh Castle Esplanade for tales of sieges, battles, kings, queens, and mysteries. Descend Castlehill into stories of witches and wizards, then take in Victoria Street and the Grassmarket. At Greyfriars Bobby’s statue, we separate fact from fiction, but Bobby’s story will stay with you. From there we cross George IV Bridge back to the Royal Mile, uncovering the thinkers and larger‑than‑life characters who shaped Edinburgh (plus the details most people walk straight past). We continue to St Giles’ Cathedral and Tron Kirk for saints and sinners, power and punishment, and hidden histories along - and beneath - the street. Finally, wander down Cockburn Street and cross from Old Town to New Town. Finish near the Scott Monument with fresh eyes on Edinburgh’s city centre.
