Christ the King Statue – A Sacred Symbol of Vung Tau
Perched atop Nui Nho (Small Mountain), the Christ the King Statue is one of the largest Christ statues in Asia, standing 32 meters tall with an arm span of 18.4 meters. To reach this magnificent landmark, visitors must climb 847 steps, but the reward is a breathtaking panoramic view of Vung Tau’s coastline from an ideal height.
Thang Tam Temple is one of Vung Tau’s most famous spiritual destinations, closely associated with the worship of Ca Ong (Whale God) – the guardian deity of fishermen. The temple complex includes Thang Tam Communal House, Hon Ba Temple, and the Lady of the Five Elements Temple, each holding unique cultural and historical significance. Notably, the Whale Temple houses an enormous whale skeleton, symbolizing the deep respect of local fishermen for the sea deity.
