Stone Forest
Meet guide in the hotel lobby, visit Stone forest, Yuantong temple, overnight in Kunming hotel booked on own.
Located 120 kilometers outside of Kunming, the Stone Forest is an incredible site. It occupies an area of 400 square kilometers and is covered with karst limestone rock formations. Their bizarre shapes have been formed of millennia of wind and rain. The rock formations do resemble a forest made of stone and small ponds dot the area, adding to its beauty. The area can be explored via paths between the formations and many pavilions offer bird's eye views of the area.
Yuantong temple is one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Kunming. It has a history of more than 1200 years. It is also the largest monastery in Kunming
