Lysefjorden is the southernmost of Norway's largest fjords. The fjord is long and narrow, surrounded by high mountains. Lysefjorden is approximately 40 kilometers long and up to 422 meters deep. Preikestolen and Kjerag are the most famous natural attractions in Lysefjorden.

The approximately 625 square meters flat mountain plateau was formed by melting frost over 10.000 years ago.
