We meet in the heart of downtown for a 90-minute, 1 km guided walk designed to orient you to the town’s layout and history.
We will visit the iconic green swing bridge to discuss the town's early development before walking to All Saints’ Anglican Church and Main Street. Here, I will tell you the hidden stories, and explain how the Free Land and Homestead Act and the rugged Canadian Shield shifted our identity from fur-trading, to farming, to a tourism destination. We will explore the Group of Seven murals as we go to see how this specific area inspired Canada’s most famous art movement.
Throughout the walk, I can provide you specific, local recommendations for the best coffee, dinner, and breakfast spots in town, as well as professional advice for visiting Arrowhead Provincial Park and Muskoka Heritage Place. You will leave with a clear understanding of Huntsville’s heart and a roadmap for the rest of your Muskoka adventure.
