Stretching nearly 2 kilometers through the old town, this narrow street and its adjacent alleys are lined with well - preserved traditional buildings, shops, teahouses, guesthouses, and local residences, exuding an authentic old - world charm.

Tongli Town
After savoring a delicious local lunch, your adventure continues with a visit to either Tongli or Zhouzhuang, two of the most renowned ancient water towns. Tongli, known as the "Oriental Venice", has a history spanning over a thousand years. Comprising seven islands, 12 canals, and 49 connecting bridges, it showcases stunning traditional architecture, canals, and gardens. You can even opt for a sculling boat ride (at an additional cost) to soak in the sights of ancient buildings and local life.

Zhouzhuang Water Town
Zhouzhuang, China's most popular and commercialized water town, is nestled among canals, ponds, and lakes. Its allure lies in the ancient architecture, historic bridges, boat rides, handicrafts, and idyllic scenery. Many of its stone bridges were constructed during the imperial era, over 150 years ago.
