Mdina Metropolitan Cathedral Museum
This is a combo ticket to visit St. Paul’s Cathedral in Mdina and the adjacent Mdina Cathedral Museum in any order you wish. Tickets must first be presented at the Cathedral Museum (opposite the right/south side of the Cathedral in Archbishop’s Square).
The museum houses fine silverware, rare coins, an important collection of prints and engravings by Albrecht Dürer one of the greatest Northern Renaissance artists, Maltese objects d’art, wax reliefs, a trompe l’oeil Baroque dome, many paintings and other artefacts.
After visiting the museum, visitors may exit the museum, cross Archbishop’s Square and present the same ticket for entrance to St. Paul’s Cathedral in Mdina.
Whilst the exterior façade of the cathedral is strikingly simple, inside is richly decorated with a colourful inlaid marble floor, a frescoed ceiling, and a plethora of other marvellous features including altarpieces, paintings, marble works, intricate woodwork, silver artefacts, statues and stained glass windows.
