Lake Toya
Lake Toya (Touyako) is located in the southwest of Hokkaido and belongs to Shikotsu-Toya National Park. In the early 20th century, volcanic eruptions were frequent, and this lake was formed after it sank. The lake surface will not freeze in winter. It is the northernmost non-freezing lake in Japan, and the lake water ripples all year round.(Including the time spent on the SUV)

Jigokudani (Hell Valley)
It is a crater relic in Noboribetsu City, Hokkaido, Japan, adjacent to Lake Toya. After the volcanic eruption, a strange valley was formed by molten rock; the gray and brown rock layers plus a lot of geothermal heat erupted from the ground, forming a special volcanic topography. There are more than a dozen hot springs here, each with its own characteristics, some are hydrogen sulfide water, some are salt water, and some contain iron. In particular, Noboribetsu Onsen, which is provided with water by Jigokudani, is about 200 meters above sea level and is a hot spring resort surrounded by primeval forests.
