Itinerary
1
Beirut
9:00 AM — Departure from Beirut
Your driver picks you up from your Beirut hotel and heads north into the Lebanese mountains — the city disappearing behind you as the road climbs toward Tannourine and the first natural wonder of the day.

Baatara Gorge Waterfall
Baatara Gorge — three bridges, one waterfall, zero words
Nothing prepares you for Baatara. A 255-metre waterfall drops through three successive natural limestone bridges — a geological phenomenon found nowhere else on earth — disappearing into the darkness of the gorge below. Walk down to the viewpoint, feel the spray, hear the roar, and try to take a photo that does it justice. You cannot — but you will try anyway. In spring when the snowmelt is running hard, the volume of water is staggering. Even in summer the gorge is dramatic and the walk down is worth every step. One of the most photographed natural sites in Lebanon and one of the easiest to understand why.

Akoura secret lake
From the gorge, head to Aaqoura — a high-altitude mountain area that most Lebanon visitors never find, which is exactly what makes it worth going. The lakes sit at over 1,500 metres above sea level, framed by cedar-forested ridges and mountain panoramas that stretch across the northern Lebanese highlands. Walk the lakeshore trail, take in the reflections, breathe the mountain air — it is one of those places that feels genuinely off the tourist map even though it is only 30 minutes from Baatara. Perfect for photos, perfect for a quiet moment, and a complete contrast to the drama of the gorge you just left.

Batroun
Drop down from the mountains to the Mediterranean and arrive in Batroun — one of the oldest Phoenician cities in the world and today one of Lebanon's most beloved coastal hangouts. The old town's stone streets, Ottoman houses, and seafront cafés have a completely different energy from the mountain morning — laid-back, colourful, and full of good food. Walk along the ancient Phoenician sea wall — a 3,000-year-old natural rock barrier still standing on the beach — before settling in for an optional lunch of fresh mezze and seafood at one of the waterfront restaurants. Batroun is also famous as the home of Lebanon's craft beer scene if you feel like a cold one after a day in the mountains.
