Arrive in Semera and Drive to Erta Ale Volcano

Afdera
Upon your arrival at Semera airport, meet your tour guide at the airport and prepare for the journey to the Danakil Depression.
Then drive from Semera to Lake Afdera. On the way, stop at local villages to experience the Afar culture and enjoy scenic views of the barren desert landscapes.
After lunch break, relax at Lake Afdera, a saltwater lake surrounded by natural hot springs.
In the afternoon drive to Erta Ale volcano.

Erta Ale
Late afternoon you arrive at Erta Ale Base Camp. After a short rest, start 40 minutes to 1 hour moderate trek to Erta Ale Volcano. Reach the crater and experience the glowing lava lake, one of the rare continuously active lava lakes in the world. Spend time near the crater, capturing photos and enjoying the surreal environment.
