Its a custom built ferry, with a purpose-built bike rack, allowing your bicycle to be safely loaded while you relax & enjoy the ride. In just 10 scenic minutes, you'll cross Otago Harbour & complete the famous Cycle Loop—a mostly flat, paved ride & one of Dunedin's must-do activities.

The Cycle ferry can take up to 20 people. Or 15 people and 15 bikes at a time. The vessel is partially sheltered on the outter deck and fully sheltered in the cabin. Please dress warmly, just incase.

Book your ferry crossing here and choose your preferred departure point (Port Chalmers or Portobello) and departure time. We will always contact you after booking to confirm this and send you exact meeting instructions. Arrange your bicycle hire before your trip if required, as bicycle hire is not included. We are happy to suggest bike hire companies if need be. Arrive at ferry departure point at least 10 minutes before agreed departure time. --Meet your skipper at the departure point with your bicycle.
