Line up by 8.30am in order to catch the Fullers 0900 ferry to Waiheke, LOOK OUT for your name on the black welcome board, or wait at the I-Site information booth in the ferry terminal by 1000. It's best to use the ferries washrooms, as the terminals often experience long ques. We then embark on a scenic tour taking in some of the wonderful sites fully commentated, before visiting 3 of Waiheke's finest boutique vineyards. We recommend you book your own lunch reservation during the busy summer months. Mudbrick Archive 2pm or Oyster Inn, Fenice or Vino Vino 2.15pm. Or you can just choose one of many local cafes and eateries in the sea side village of Oneroa. Transfers provided back the ferry terminal at 3.45pm, or you may chose to stay on and enjoy more time on the Island and make your own way back to the ferry .

The tour commences with a drive along the scenic northern route, taking in spectacular views of the Hauraki Gulf and beyond to the Coromandel Peninsula. Along the way you will visit two vineyards for wine tasting and enjoy lunch and a glass of wine at the second stop. After lunch you will enjoy a scenic stop at Onetangi Beach and then if time allows, have a short stop in Oneroa village. You can make your own way back to the ferry when you are ready or alternatively the guide will return you to the Waiheke Wharf in time to catch the 5pm ferry back to Auckland.

We start with a walk through restored and regenerating bush up to the headland for some breathtaking views of the islands of the Hauraki Gulf. We continue through lush, established bush tracks and rolling hills, where you’ll enjoy lovely views of valleys, vineyards and the sea. There’s time for wine tasting and/or lunch at two of Waiheke’s best-loved vineyards – Mudbrick Vineyard or Cable Bay Vineyards – with tasting options to suit all budgets.
Experience the twin headlands of Matiatia and Church Bay on Waiheke Island, walking in a small group with an expert local guide. This walk consists of two parts, with lunch in between. Sometimes we do the northern route first, and sometimes the southern. Why is that? Well, we often need to work around the tides! Northern route (approx 2 hours): We’ll walk around the Matiatia headland and past Owhanake Bay, enjoying beautiful views of the Hauraki Gulf Islands, Great Barrier Island and Coromandel Peninsula. You’ll spot sea birds, native plants and, if you’re lucky, orcas or dolphins. We’ll stop for lunch at Oneroa Village. You can eat in one of the local cafes or have a picnic on the beach with food you’ve purchased or brought with you. Southern route (approx 2 hours): We’ll walk through Pio Rehutai Reserve and around the Church Bay headland through a sculpture park and a stunning bush reserve. We’ll pass hidden coves and amazing homes, as we enjoy view of the city and sea.
