You will discover the bold audacity of this final painting, before being struck with horror as you learn about the different 'treatments' inflicted on psychiatric patients in the 19th century, which Van Gogh himself endured. What, then, was the ailment that tormented Vincent Van Gogh? Facing 'The Roots,' his ultimate painting, you will attempt to unravel this mystery by contemplating the last landscape that inspired the painter. You will discover the wild audacity of this unfinished work, before being overwhelmed with fear as you dive into the world of treatments inflicted on psychiatric patients in the 19th century. Over the village, lies the wheatfield that inspired Van Gogh's Wheatfield with Crows. You will walk through it following Van Gogh and hear about his suicide attempt and how he committed suicide in this field (and failed). His brother Théo then joined him before Van Gogh eventually left this world.

A quick walk will then lead from the Wheet Field and the cemetery where Van Gogh is burried. Your journey in Auvers-sur-Oise ends with emotion around the greatest mystery: who killed Vincent Van Gogh? Himself, society, misery... or something else?
