Kumano Nachi Taisha Shrine is a famous shrine located on Mount Nachi in Wakayama Prefecture. Along with Kumano Hongu Taisha and Kumano Hayatama Taisha, it is one of the "Three Sanzan Shrines of Kumano" and the head shrine of over 4,000 Kumano shrines in Japan. It was designated a World Heritage Site in 2004. Originating from the natural worship of Nachi Falls, it is renowned for its vermilion-colored buildings, the "womb-crossing" phenomenon with an 850-year-old camphor tree, and the divine power of matchmaking. It is an energetic tourist attraction imbued with both natural and historical beliefs.
