Located in the Italian region of Tuscany, Pisa is famous for its iconic tower. Already leaning when it was completed in 1372, this 56-metre-high white marble cylinder is the bell tower of the Romanesque cathedral in light and dark marble that stands beside it in Piazza dei Miracoli. This square of miracles also includes the baptistery, known for its acoustics, which amateur singers test every day, as well as the Camposanto Monumentale cemetery.

Lucca is a Tuscan town on the River Serchio. It is known for its perfectly preserved Renaissance walls surrounding its historic town centre and cobbled streets. The wide, tree-lined streets along the 16th- and 17th-century ramparts are popular for walking and cycling. Casa di Puccini, the birthplace of the great opera composer, is now a house museum.
