Hanging Church (El Muallaqa, Sitt Mariam, St Mary)
the Hanging Church :
The Hanging Church is named for its location above a gatehouse of Babylon Fortress, the Roman fortress in Coptic Cairo (Old Cairo); its nave is suspended over a passage. The church is approached by twenty-nine steps; early travelers to Cairo dubbed it "the Staircase Church". The land surface has risen by some six metres since the Roman period, so the Roman tower is mostly buried below ground, reducing the visual impact of the church's elevated position.

Synagogue Ben Ezra
Synagogue Ben Ezra is a synagogue located in Old Cairo, Egypt. It is the oldest synagogue in Egypt and is believed to have been built in 882 CE by the Jewish community of Fustat. The synagogue was named after Rabbi Ben Ezra, a prominent Jewish scholar who lived in Fustat during the 10th century.
The synagogue is an important site for Jews and Muslims, as it reminds them of the long history of coexistence between these two faiths in Egypt. It has been restored several times over the centuries, and today it stands as a testament to the rich cultural heritage of Egypt.

Church of St. Barbara
The church of St. Barbara is among the churches of Old Cairo of historic importance. It was originally dedicated to St. Cyrus and St. John who were worshipped for their healing powers. A small church at the northeastern corner of the building commemorates these two martyrs. Documents from the 13th century mention that the relics of St. Barbara were kept in this church. Many of its precious items, like two door panels, a wooden screen, an icon and Bible caskets were transferred to the nearby Coptic Museum. The basilican structure and tripartite sanctuary of the church closely resembles the one of Abu Sarga. The church of St. Barbara houses some of the rarest icons.

Coptic Cairo
The church is dedicated to Sergius and Bacchus, who were soldier-saints martyred during the 4th century in Syria by the Roman Emperor Maximian. The most interesting feature is the crypt where Mary, Joseph and the infant Jesus are said to have rested. The crypt is 10 meters deep and, when Nile levels are high, is often flooded.
