Yoyogi National Gymnasium — Kenzo Tange's 1964 Olympic masterpiece. A suspension-bridge roof creates a pillar-free interior, blending ancient shrine form with modern engineering — Japan's postwar statement to the world.

Omotesando Hills — Tadao Ando's 2006 replacement for the historic Dojunkai Apartments. Half-buried to preserve the zelkova treeline, with an interior spiral ramp mirroring the street's slope — a "second Omotesando" indoors.

Former Dojunkai — Fire-resistant apartments built after the 1923 earthquake. Their 2006 redevelopment sparked fierce debate: destroy or preserve?

TOD'S Omotesando — Toyo Ito's 2004 design where structure and decoration are one: the concrete "branches" are traced from the street's zelkova trees, doubling as load-bearing pillars, with frameless glass filling the gaps.

SunnyHills at Minami-Aoyama — Kengo Kuma's 2013 lattice structure, hand-joined with no nails or glue (jigoku-gumi). Like a woven basket rising from the pavement — natural texture over glass and steel.
