Machu Picchu, which in Spanish means “old mountain”, is the most famous Inca citadel in the world. Located 110 km northeast of Cusco, in the province of Urubamba. This architectural gem is surrounded by temples, platforms and water channels.
In order to visit Machu Picchu, Inca Rail has three starting points:
The San Pedro stations in Cusco, Poroy and Ollantaytambo from which you can board the train of your choice bound for the Machu Picchu Pueblo station.
It also offers its Bimodal service which combines a trip on the exclusive bus, starting from Av. El Sol 843, near the Plaza de Armas to Ollantaytambo to board the train to Machu Picchu Pueblo. The Bimodal service is available all year round.
Between January and April it is suggested to leave with the Bimodal service, because due to weather conditions, it will not be possible to leave from the San Pedro and Poroy train stations.
