The tour begins with a journey south of Hobart, passing through the scenic Huon Valley—a region well known for its fresh apples, pears, cherries, and thriving fish farming industry.
Our first stop is Tahune Adventures, where you can experience the famous AirWalk along with a selection of forest walks. Tahune Adventures
Experience the thrill of being suspended high above the Huon River, with sweeping views across the treetops and surrounding mountains. There’s plenty of time to further explore and enjoy additional walks around Tahune Adventures.
For those who enjoy a more active experience, the journey continues to the Swinging Bridges Walk, where a 62-metre bridge stretches across the Picton River. This enjoyable 60-minute walk includes two river crossings and showcases a stunning part of Tasmania.
If you prefer a gentler option, the easy 20-minute Huon Pine Walk offers a relaxed experience along the river, where you can see the iconic and rare Huon Pine trees—some estimated to be up to 2,000 years old—making for a peaceful and enchanting stroll.

Hastings Caves and Thermal Springs
We then continue south to Hastings Caves Reserve, a peaceful and remote destination known for its stunning natural beauty. Here, you can enjoy a range of activities while taking in the unique surroundings. Bring your swimwear and take a dip in the Thermal Springs pool, where the water is consistently a warm 28°C, naturally heated by nearby springs. Alternatively, relax in the tranquil forest setting or stroll along the Hot Springs Nature Trail, where warm and cool waters meet—also a great spot to watch for the elusive and playful Platypus.
The experience continues underground with a guided tour of Hastings Caves, Australia’s largest tourist dolomite cave. Led by knowledgeable Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service guides, this fascinating exploration reveals impressive cave formations. With the temperature inside the cave remaining at around 9°C year-round, it’s a good idea to bring a warm layer.
