Church of S. Maria degli Angioli
Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli – Lugano's Renaissance Gem: a must-see for anyone interested in history, art, and architecture.
It is famous for its massive frescoed wall the masterpiece fresco of the Passion and Crucifixion of Christ (1529–1532) by Bernardino Luini, a disciple of Leonardo da Vinci and a master of the Lombard Renaissance.

It’s one of Lugano’s oldest commercial streets, originally established in the 19th century as a pedestrian promenade with elegant porticoes and façades.

A quiet, charming square nestled in the heart of Lugano, Piazza San Rocco is home to the beautiful Church of San Rocco, built in the late 1500s after a vow during the plague. The church features impressive Baroque frescoes, a 17th-century altar, and a historic organ. And there are beautiful 17th-century frescoes by the Valsolda Pozzi brothers depict St Roch’s life, along with scenes of Christ in Glory and the Nativity cycle in the dedicated chapel .
