The bridge was originally built in 1571 with funds collected by monk Xingchao (Chinese: 性潮) from Cimen Temple (Chinese: 慈门寺). In the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368–1911), local monks would hold a ceremony on the bridge, releasing live fish into the port. It had been on the list of "The Ten Views of Zhujiajiao". It was rebuilt in 1812, in the ruling of Jiaqing Emperor (1796–1820) of the Qing dynasty(1644–1911).
On November 17, 1987, it has been designated as a municipal level cultural heritage by the Shanghai Municipal Government.

مدينة تشوجياجياو القديمة
Huimin Bridge (also called Lang Bridge) is a famous wooden covered bridge in Zhujiajiao Ancient Town, Shanghai.
Location: It stands at the southern end of North Street, crossing the Market River. East connects to busy North Street; west leads to Caohe Street.
Features: It’s the only wooden bridge in the town, with wooden railings, tiled roofs, and upturned eaves. It shelters people from sun and rain, so it’s named “Huimin” (meaning benefiting the people).
History: First built in the Qing Dynasty; rebuilt in 1996.
View: Walking on it, you can see classic Jiangnan water town scenery—stone banks, white walls, black tiles, and local daily life by the river.

Tai'an Bridge
Tai’an Bridge
"Tai’an Bridge, located in the northern Zhashan area of the 25th administrative district, commonly known as Hejia Bridge, was built by the local community in the 12th year of the Wanli reign of the Ming dynasty (1584).”
The Qing scholar Chen Jianglin also wrote a poem titled “Tai’an Bridge in Evening View”:
"The sun sets, summer heat retreats,
A faint moonlight fills the pond.
Songs drift from the market streets,
Fishermen’s flutes echo east of the creek.
Palm fans sway away the lingering warmth,
Short summer robes catch the cool breeze.
In this tranquil evening, I wander alone,
The ancient temple connects to the bridge."
