We visit Stockholm City Hall courtyard, designed by Swedish architect Ragnar according to Renaissance castles in medieval Venice and was inspired especially by Piazza S.Marco ( the Cathedral square). The architect added also a Scandinavian touch with features such as the fountain shells , statues...to remind visitors that the is surrounded by water !

Gamla Stan is the oldest island in Stockholm, dating back to the 13th century and founded by the Hanseatic League in 13th century. The medieval town was designed by the Hansa according to North-Germanic architectural style ( especially Lubeck) .The island is very picturesque, all the buildings are dating back to the 17th, 18th century. We walk the cobbled streets, the narrow alleys...

Stockholm Royal Palace is dating back to the 18th century, with 600 rooms is considered as the largest in Europe. The Palace is home to the Swedish Royal Family. We stop by the Royal courtyard, where ona daily basis there is the ceremony of the changing of the guard.

Since its foundation in 13th century, the island has been home of the Swedish Nobility until the birth of the Riksdag ( Swedish Parliament). Also ,housing one of the oldest church in Sweden dating back to the 13th century. Nowadays, the church is a mausoleum ( 200 monarchs are buried inside). On the island main square, stands the statue of the city founding father Birger Jarl .

Djurgården is the lush green island ( 80 % ) covered with pine trees, considered as the amusement park of the city. It's a national urban park in the heart if Stockholm! For the locals, it is the ideal area to practice a variety of sport activities.
