This is an intimate, heartfelt experience led by a local who actively lives the tradition. As a longtime member of KUD Marko Marojica from Župa Dubrovačka and a regular banner carrier in the Feast of Saint Blaise procession, I share stories that most guides simply cannot — because I’ve walked in the procession for nearly 20 years, danced the same steps, and worn the same traditional costumes.
You won’t just hear about Saint Blaise — you’ll understand why he still matters so deeply to us today. You’ll learn about authentic folk costumes (including the famous golden vests with toke and heavy heirloom jewelry), the energetic Linđo dance, the soulful sound ...

Itinerary
1
Amerling Fontana
You will walk the path of a 1050 years old tradition in the Old town Dubrovnik - Feast of St. Blaise.
The last 19 years I have been a part of this UNESCO World Heritage gem proudly carrying a banner of Saint Mary Magdalene's Parish from Župa dubrovačka.
15 minutes
2
Pile Gate
We start at Pile Gate, the main entrance to the Old City. This is where the great procession of Saint Blaise begins every year. Since 972, Saint Blaise has been the protector of Dubrovnik, and walking through these gates in traditional costume during the festa is one of the most emotional moments for us from Župa.

3
The Franciscan Church and Monastery
Here on the Stradun you can almost hear the footsteps of history. This is the main route of the Saint Blaise procession. Every February 3rd, I walk here carrying the banner of my parish from Mandaljena.
4
Church of Saint Blaise
Church of Saint Blaise, the spiritual heart of the city. On his feast day, the square and the entire Stradun come alive as locals and people from the surrounding villages arrive in full traditional costumes — men in richly embroidered golden vests and women wearing gold necklaces — all celebrating over 1,050 years of Saint Blaise’s protection.

Rector's Palace
The Rectors Palace was the administrative centre of the Dubrovnik Republic. Its style is basically Gothic, with the Renaissance and Baroque reconstructions.
