Itinerary
1
Diani Beach
Embark on a full-day adventure from Diani Beach to the scenic and wildlife-rich Shimba Hills National Reserve, one of Kenya’s most underrated gems. Begin with a morning pickup from your hotel in Diani Beach and enjoy a comfortable drive inland with panoramic views of coastal plains and misty hills.
2
Sheldrick Falls
Upon arrival, settle your park entry fees at the gate before proceeding into the reserve for a guided morning game drive. This small-group experience ensures personalized attention from your expert guide, who will help spot a range of wildlife and bird species throughout the day. Shimba Hills is especially renowned for its rare sable antelopes, known for their elegant scimitar-shaped horns used to fend off predators. The park also shelters elephants, giraffes, bush pigs, and diverse birdlife.
Birdwatchers will be in paradise—over 111 species have been recorded here, including 22 coastal endemics such as the palm-nut vulture, African hawk-eagle, and the elusive honeyguide.
After the drive, stretch your legs on a guided hike to the scenic Sheldrick Falls, a round-trip walk of 1 to 2 hours through lush forest trails. This picturesque 21-meter waterfall is surrounded by tropical foliage and provides a tranquil, shaded spot for photos and a brief rest.
