Day 1 of the Short Inca Trail begins with a pick up at your hotel in Cusco at 4am, then is 1h and half driving to Ollantaytambo train station where we will take Train to Km 104 where we begins the hike, crossing the Urubamba River towards Chachabamba ruins, offering a glimpse into Inca history. The trail ascends through lush cloud forests, rich in flora and fauna, leading to the stunning Wiñay Wayna ruins, showcasing Inca architectural prowess with terraces and temples. The journey peaks at the Sun Gate, revealing the first mesmerizing view of Machu Picchu. This rewarding day combines moderate hiking with historical exploration, ending as hikers prepare for Machu Picchu's exploration on Day 2.
