Golden Gate Park
The essential Golden Gate Park tour from the Haight to Ocean Beach. Golden Gate Park has a lot to offer between its world-class gardens and exhibits, but it’s my goal to take you along the seldom traveled trails to showcase it’s hidden beauty.
Standing under the tropical giants at the Conservatory of Flowers and wading in the serenity of the Japanese Tea Garden, I’ll illustrate how the park was planted, formed, and grown. Sneaking through the park’s many ecosystems, we’ll spy hundreds of flora and fauna like the great American bison, the spotted owl, and a slimey sweetheart, the banana slug.
Looping lakes, open air plazas, and moving memorials speckle our journey through the park to the seaside. The massive Dutch Windmill and rolling sand dunes mark the end of our tour as we reach the Pacific Ocean. Reflect on your thousand-acre adventure and maybe pick a spot on the shore to watch the sunset.
