REINDEER CALVING EVENING TRIP - A peaceful walk to the calving area
About
During 15th of may – 15th of june we herd the female reindeers 24/7 while they are giving birth to reindeer calves, to prevent attacks from predatures like eagles, bears, wolverines, lynx and even crows.
By visiting us, you will get to see the reindeer herd close up, and if you are lucky, you might even see reindeer giving birth. You will learn a lot about our traditions and our culture as Sámi people, the only indigenous people of Europe. As we are living in the Arctic, the nights are already very long this time of year and it feels like the midnight sun has arrived. This sure is - a once in a lifetime experience.
