Established as a conservation area in the 1960s, the Jozani Forest is now part of Zanzibar’s Jozani-Chwaka National Park, and has become an important sanctuary for one of the rarest primates in Africa: Kirk’s red colobus monkeys. Sightings of these creatures, which are endemic to Zanzibar, are now very frequent in the reserve, where they are thought to number almost 2,500. Also this is very unique tour because you will have time to visit butterfly center for paying your self just half of entrance fees, you can see camelion, butterflies if you book with me Jozani forest tour.

The forest is a great place to encounter many indigenous varieties of flora and fauna, including the Zanzibari Red Colobus Monkey.
The forest also accommodates a large mangrove swamp and a tract of natural forest that is home to a few unique species including the Sykes monkey, bushbabies, Ader's duiker, over 50 species of butterfly, and 40 species of birds.
