Itinerary
1
Reykjavik
Your journey begins in Reykjavík, the vibrant capital of Iceland and the northernmost capital city in the world. After pickup, we leave the city behind and head along the scenic South Coast, one of the most spectacular regions in the country. The day will take you through waterfalls, glaciers, black sand beaches, and dramatic ocean cliffs before ending with a unique Viking storytelling experience in the evening.
2
Seljalandsfoss
One of Iceland’s most famous waterfalls, where a pathway allows visitors to walk behind the curtain of falling water. The view from behind the waterfall creates a unique perspective of the surrounding landscape.
30 minutes
3
Gljufrabui Waterfalls
A hidden waterfall located inside a narrow canyon just a short walk from Seljalandsfoss. Partially concealed by cliffs, the waterfall feels like a secret place discovered by stepping through a small opening in the rock.
20 minutes
4
Skogafoss
A powerful and dramatic waterfall dropping 60 meters from ancient sea cliffs. On sunny days, the mist often creates bright rainbows. Visitors can walk right up to the base of the waterfall or climb the staircase for panoramic views over the surrounding landscape.
30 minutes
5
Solheimajokull Glacier
A striking outlet glacier flowing down from the larger Mýrdalsjökull ice cap. From the viewpoint you can observe the dramatic contrast between white ice, dark volcanic ash layers, and the rugged glacial terrain shaped by ice and volcanic forces.
40 minutes
6
Reynisfjara Beach
Reynisfjara is one of the most famous black sand beaches in Iceland, known for its dramatic basalt columns, powerful Atlantic waves, and the Reynisdrangar sea stacks rising from the ocean. However, the area has recently been heavily affected by severe storms and powerful wave activity, which has made access to the beach itself increasingly dangerous.
Because of the unpredictable and extremely strong “sneaker waves,” it is not always safe to approach the shoreline. For safety reasons, we do not bring guests directly onto the beach when conditions are risky. Instead, we will stop at a safe viewpoint in the area to admire the dramatic coastline and see the Reynisdrangar sea stacks from a distance while keeping a comfortable and safe distance from the ocean.
7
Dyrholaey
A high cliff viewpoint offering spectacular views over the South Coast. From here you can see the famous stone arch rising from the sea as well as the long stretch of black sand beaches extending toward Vík.
30 minutes
8
Efri-Vik
The day concludes with a unique cultural experience inspired by Iceland’s Viking heritage. Guests enjoy a traditional-style dinner while listening to dramatic storytelling about Viking life, Icelandic sagas, and the legends that shaped the island’s history.
1 hour and 30 minutes
9
Reykjavik
After the Viking storytelling evening, we begin the relaxed journey back to Reykjavík. The return drive passes through the quiet countryside of South Iceland, offering a peaceful end to a day filled with dramatic landscapes, history, and unforgettable experiences.
