Fatehpur Sikri
Fatehpur Sikri is one of the 3 World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. Two of the most happiest memories of Mughal Emperor Akbar's Life are associated with Sikri. First is the conquest of Gujarat by Mughal forces & second is the birth of a son, what he immensely wanted.
It was built in 16th century but unfortunately when the construction was completed, they had to move & since then the city has been abandoned from last 450 years.
It was a capital pf Mughal Empire in 16th century & was also a centre of trade back in the time.
The monument is in 02 parts. First is the historical part where you can see palaces, hall of public & private audiences, Dream House of King Akbar & Mughak Harem.
Second is the religious part of city where you can see the exquisitely beautiful Jama Masjid or The Friday Mosque & the shrine of Sufi Saint Sheikh Salim Chisti.
