Temple of Olympian Zeus
The Columns of the Olympian Zeus are one of the most impressive ancient monuments in Athens and represent the ruins of a large temple dedicated to the god Zeus, which was originally designed to be the largest temple of antiquity. The temple was constructed in the 6th century BC, but its completion occurred later, in the 2nd century AD under the Emperor Hadrian.
From the ancient temple, 15 magnificent columns, each standing 17 meters tall and made of marble, have been preserved.
