This is a private, door-to-door transfer from Porto to Lisbon through the Douro Valley, the world's oldest demarcated wine region. Instead of a day on the motorway, we follow the river to Pinhão and break the journey at two family wineries. At one of them, a full tasting is waiting: Douro DOC wines — white, rosé and red Reserve — local olive oil, and a glass of Port to finish. Alongside the wines, a Portuguese brunch of regional cheeses, smoked sausages and fresh bread. Before continuing south, you take a boat trip on the Douro — the terraced vineyards look different from the water, and it's a good pause halfway through the day.
