Nairobi
The Nairobi National Park boasts as being the only wildlife park that is so close to a city – only a short drive out of Nairobi’s central business district. Wide open grassy plains are home to a spectacular variety of wild animals, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffaloes and over 400 species of birds. The National Park is also a major sanctuary for the endangered black rhino and specializes in breeding these animals and restocking other parks across Africa. Four out of the mythical Big Five (ie. lions, buffalo, leopards and rhinos) among other animals are in the park. There are 100 mammal species here. The park is unique in that its city skyline is in sharp contrast to the African savannah paradise only seven kilometers out of the bustling urban setting.
