The Sirwa Massif lies to the south of the Toubkal National Park on the boundary between the High Atlas and the Anti-Atlas. It is a beautiful part of the country and a fantastic area to go trekking in Morocco. It is filled with plunging valleys and soaring mountain peaks and it contains old Berber villages surrounded by almond trees and fields of saffron. Sirwa is the only place in Morocco where saffron is harvested.
The snow-capped Sirwa peak itself is actually an ancient, extinct volcano and rises to 3305m; a good 300m higher than its surrounding counterpart peaks.
This is an extraordinary Atlas Mountains tour and you’ll get to travel through some of the most fascinating and wild areas in...

Medina of Marrakesh
After an early pick up from Marrakech we'll arrive in Maliouine (984m). Maliouine is a major trailhead for treks in the Toubkal Sirwa Massif and its here that we load our mules and set off for the first part of the trip.
Initially, it is a straightforward and easy walk of about 4 or 5 hours to Akhfamane (1250m) where you will spend the night in a Berber gite.
(Alternatively we can drive to Akhfamane if we arrive too late from Marrakech).
