Village patrimonial de Monsopiad
Travelers will step into the legendary Monsopiad Cultural Village, the ancestral home of the famed Kadazan-Dusun warrior Monsopiad. They will explore the 300-year-old House of Skulls, where the warrior’s 42 collected skulls are displayed along with sacred artifacts linked to ancient rituals, bobohizans (high priestesses), and traditional spiritual practices.
A guided cultural tour introduces visitors to the stories, traditions, and history of the Kadazan-Dusun people, offering a deeper understanding of their beliefs and way of life. Guests will enjoy a live cultural performance, featuring traditional dances, music, and the famous bamboo dance—where travelers are invited to join in.
The experience includes several hands-on activities, such as blowpipe shooting, fire-starting demonstrations, traditional slingshots, and sampling local rice wine. Adventurous travelers may even try the iconic butod worm, a traditional delicacy.
