Mai Chau
11:00 – After a short tour briefing, begin cycling through the rice fields and small village lanes on the way to Na Phon Village. Here, you’ll visit a weaving workshop to explore the traditional craft of the White Thai ethnic group. Under the guidance of a local Thai woman, you’ll learn age-old techniques of weaving, dyeing, and embroidery, and even join a hands-on natural dyeing workshop. The piece you create will be yours to keep – a meaningful souvenir of your time with the artisans. Light snacks will be served during the session.
The workshop takes place at the Hoa Ban Social Protecting Center, established in 2008 to support disadvantaged and disabled women while preserving the weaving heritage of the White Thai. As part of the “Keep It Beautiful Vietnam” project, the center not only empowers local women and girls but also promotes sustainable, high-quality textile products with strong environmental and social values.
