Battersea Power Station
We begin our journey at the striking Battersea Power Station on the Thames, one of London’s most iconic landmarks. After a friendly welcome and safety briefing, we take a short ride around the redeveloped Power Station complex. Here you’ll hear the story of its transformation — from a coal-fired station powering much of London, to a cultural icon in music and film, and now a vibrant riverside destination. This first stop sets the scene, combining cycling with stories that bring London’s past and present to life before we head out along the river.

Battersea Park
Next, we cycle into Battersea Park, one of London’s most beautiful green spaces along the Thames. Riding at an easy pace, we explore peaceful tree-lined paths, ornamental gardens, and lakes alive with wildlife. The park offers a quieter, scenic contrast to the bustle of the city, with plenty of photo opportunities along the riverside and within its landscaped grounds. It’s the perfect place to slow the pace, enjoy the fresh air, and experience a more relaxed side of London before continuing our journey towards Putney.

Putney Bridge
Leaving Battersea Park, we turn up the energy with carefully selected music playing through a portable speaker as we ride the lively stretch of the Thames Path towards Putney. This part of the journey brings us alongside the famous riverside rowing clubs, where you can often see crews out training on the water — a true slice of London sporting life. Across the river you’ll spot Fulham Football Club’s stadium, while the riverside pubs and boathouses of Putney add to the vibrant atmosphere. We pause at Putney Bridge to enjoy the views before continuing our scenic route deeper into southwest London.

Richmond Park
From Putney we continue into Richmond Park, London’s largest Royal Park and the highlight of the ride. Spanning 2,500 acres, it feels like a countryside escape within the city. We cycle at a relaxed pace through open grasslands and quiet woodland trails, taking time to explore different areas of the park. Along the way we stop for photos and keep watch for the famous herds of red and fallow deer that roam freely. With around 75–90 minutes inside the park, there’s plenty of time to enjoy the natural beauty and capture memorable moments before we make our way out towards Richmond town for a riverside lunch by the historic bridge.

Richmond-upon-Thames
After exploring Richmond Park, we roll down into Richmond upon Thames, a lively riverside town full of charm and history. Here the Thames curves beneath the elegant Richmond Bridge, the oldest surviving bridge on the river, creating one of the most picturesque spots in London. We stop for a well-earned lunch by the water, with a choice of traditional pubs, cafes, or riverside restaurants, giving everyone time to relax and soak up the atmosphere. After lunch, we take a short cycle through the town centre to see its historic streets and vibrant local life before rejoining the Thames Path for our return journey.

Putney Bridge
To complete the journey, we cycle back along the Thames Path towards Putney, enjoying the riverside views from a fresh perspective. At Putney Pier, we board the Uber Boat by Thames Clippers for a relaxing cruise back to Battersea Power Station. This final leg gives us time to unwind, take in London’s skyline from the water, and reflect on the day’s ride before arriving back at our starting point. The mix of cycling and riverboat travel makes for a unique and memorable way to experience London.
