Catch a Fish is a small-group, owner-operated fishing experience with a maximum of just six guests, giving everyone plenty of personal attention and the chance to be genuinely involved.
Whether it’s your first time fishing or you’ve fished for years, the experience is adapted to you. Beginners are guided through everything, while experienced anglers can get more involved with techniques, gear and the Lake Hāwea fishery.
Once fishing, we use a fully electric trolling motor, meaning no engine noise while we fish. Its clever GPS route-following system can automatically guide the boat along our fishing route, giving your skipper more time to interact with guests, help with the fishing, answer ...

Meet your skipper at the Lake Hāwea boat ramp at The Camp and board our comfortable fishing boat for a three-hour small-group fishing experience on Lake Hāwea. After a short safety briefing and introduction to the fishing gear, we’ll head out onto the lake and choose the best areas to fish based on the conditions.
Target rainbow trout, brown trout and salmon using techniques such as trolling and downrigging, with all fishing equipment provided. No previous fishing experience is needed, your skipper will help beginners every step of the way, while experienced anglers are welcome to get more involved and talk fishing techniques and the local fishery.
