Muzeum Krakowa, oddzial Fabryka Emalia Oskara Schindlera
Step inside Oskar Schindler’s former enamel factory, now a museum presenting a comprehensive account of Kraków during Nazi occupation. This is not only a biographical exhibition — it tells the broader story of how war transformed the city and the lives of its Jewish and non-Jewish residents.
With a licensed professional guide, you will bypass ticket lines and explore the permanent exhibition “Kraków under Nazi Occupation 1939–1945.” Through original artifacts, archival photographs, and reconstructed interiors, the museum recreates the atmosphere of the era. Narrow corridors and subdued lighting are deliberately designed to reflect the tension and uncertainty of daily life under occupation.
Within this wider historical narrative, you will learn how Schindler’s factory became a refuge for more than a thousand Jewish workers. His actions are presented in the context of persecution, deportations, and the destruction of Kraków’s Jewish community.
