Approximately 12,000 years ago, some of the most significant transformations in human history began to unfold. Humanity was on the verge of transitioning from a hunter-gatherer lifestyle to a settled existence and an agricultural, productive way of life. Moreover, during this transitional period, they did not settle for the modest, simple lifestyle we might imagine; on the contrary, they experienced a magnificent era.

Karahantepe, or Karahan Tepe, is an archaeological site located in Türkiye's Şanlıurfa province. Situated 46 km from the city, Karahantepe was first discovered by Bahattin Çelik in 1997. Initial excavation work began in September 2019 at the site, which contains 250 obelisks believed to date back to the Neolithic period.
