Starting from Sorrento it takes about 45 minutes to reach Positano, Driving downhill directly through Positano, going down the one-way street unique in its panorama, passing through many local restaurants, leads to the heart of the city - the busy central Piazza dei Mulini, which is connected to a narrow downhill path that leads to the seafront. In Piazza dei Mulini, it is necessary to leave the car as all the roads leading to the promenade are only for pedestrians. These roads also lead to the cathedral, shops selling ceramics, lemons, shoes and "Positano fashion" clothing. There is a short walk uphill to get back to the car and this time, going up the mountain, returning to the main coastal road that leads to Amalfi.
Here we are at the destination of our tour, and the right time and the right place to stop in one of the many typical restaurants that are along our itinerary, lunched calmly, we continue along the coastal road, this starts after Sorrento, crosses Positano, the fishing villages of Praiano, Furore and Conca dei Marini, and continue until you reach the crowded square of Amalfi which is located in front of the sea - port and a long stretch of pebble beach. Opposite the port of Amalfi, there is the one and only bus station along the coast. Behind this square is the main shopping street of Amalfi that ends at the furthest and highest point of the city. Along the pedestrian street are various bars and cafes, not to mention the numerous shops selling limoncello, casual wear, swimwear, gifts, basic groceries, and of course, ceramics. However, if you would like to see more than just shops, Amalfi boasts some interesting places to explore: the most spectacular cathedral along the coast, the paper factory and its museum. An uphill walk along a very narrow road that passes several wineries and olive factories etc ....
