Itinerary
1
Citadella
Soaring above the Danube, you’ll first approach the Citadel, perched atop Gellért Hill. This 19th-century fortress offers panoramic views of the entire city and is crowned by the Liberty Statue, a symbol of Hungarian freedom. From the air, the statue and fortifications are especially striking against the backdrop of the river.
2
Buda Castle
Next, you’ll glide past the majestic Buda Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This historical royal palace complex dominates Castle Hill and showcases centuries of Hungarian history. Its commanding position above the river makes for an incredible aerial photo opportunity.
3
Hungarian Parliament Building
Crossing to the Pest side, you’ll be treated to a stunning view of the Hungarian Parliament Building, one of Europe’s most beautiful and iconic legislative buildings. Its intricate Neo-Gothic spires and massive dome stand proudly along the banks of the Danube, best appreciated from the sky.
4
Janoshegy
Your route then curves over the lush greenery of Jánoshegy, the highest point in Budapest. Topped by the elegant Erzsébet Lookout Tower, this forested hill offers a peaceful contrast to the bustling city. From above, the vast canopy and the winding trails highlight Budapest’s rich natural beauty.
5
Margaret Island
The tour concludes with a graceful pass over Margitsziget, the verdant island oasis in the middle of the Danube. Famous for its tranquil gardens, historical ruins, and fountains, Margaret Island is a favorite escape for locals. The aerial view reveals its unique layout, hidden treasures, and surrounding riverbanks.
