It was built in 1897 by the German immigrant community on the picturesque Concepción Hill. The Anglican Cathedral of Saint Paul is one of the most significant historical monuments on Cerro Concepción, built in 1858 for the burgeoning British immigrant community. It is considered the first non-Catholic church built in Chile and is notable for its unique architectural design, which had to be adapted to the strict laws of the time that prohibited public worship outside of Catholicism. For this reason, the church was built without an exterior cross, tower, or bell tower, resembling from the outside a modest residential property.
