Participants take part in a gin-kō (haiku walk) to Ishite-ji Temple, the 51st temple of the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage, wearing authentic pilgrim attire. Drawing inspiration from the surrounding scenery and historic setting, participants compose English-language haiku, share their poems, and receive commentary from the instructor under the guidance of an English haiku instructor. The experience is casual yet authentic, offering a genuine introduction to both pilgrimage culture and haiku. Opportunities to experience English-language haiku in this way are rare worldwide, making this a truly unique and valuable experience.
