This stop takes place at an authentic Sámi reindeer camp located on Salen Mountain above Hammerfest. Travelers meet a local Sámi reindeer herder and are introduced to the reindeer that graze freely in the area during summer and early autumn.
Guests spend time observing and feeding the reindeer while learning about reindeer herding, daily Sámi life, and the close relationship between people, animals, and nature.
After time with the reindeer, travelers gather inside a traditional lavvu, where the guide shares personal stories about Sámi culture and performs joik. The experience is calm, respectful, and focused on cultural understanding rather than entertainment.
