Unlike typical yabusame, which is meant to hone martial skills, this rare form of mounted archery uses the patterns of the horse's hoof prints to divine fortunes. It has become a major autumn tradition in the area, attracting many spectators. Additionally, along the shrine’s approach, one of the cherry trees has a "heart-shaped burl," regarded as a sacred tree for bringing about romantic connections, making it a popular spot for those seeking love and good fortune.

Oshino Hakkai consists of eight clear spring ponds formed by the filtration of Mount Fuji's melting snow through layers of volcanic rock.
