Marienbrunnen
The Marienbrunnen, also known as the Altstadtmarktbrunnen, is a late Gothic fountain located in Braunschweig's Old Town Market. Cast in lead on 24 November 1408, it features three pyramidal basins adorned with coats of arms, figures, floral decorations, and inscriptions in Middle Low German and Latin. Originally serving as a vital water source for the city's residents, the fountain was largely destroyed during World War II and was reconstructed in 1988, with some original fragments preserved in the Old Town Hall.

The current main building, known as the "Großes Haus," was inaugurated in 1861 and showcases a neoclassical architectural style. Today, the theatre offers a diverse programme across five divisions, including opera, drama, dance, youth theatre, and symphonic concerts, performed in multiple venues such as the Großes Haus, Kleines Haus, and the Aquarium.
