Materuni Waterfalls: the Village of Materuni sits at the edge of Mount Kilimanjaro Forest Reserve. Your hike will pass through the winding village roads and within the lush rainforest.
Materuni Waterfall is one of the highest in the area, reaching a height of 80 meters. You are permitted to swim in the pool below the falls, but take note, the water is biting-cold, since it is sourced from glacier water, directly off the mountain.

A morning hike to the glacier-fed Materuni Waterfalls (approx 1 - 2.5 hrs). The hike passes through lush vegetation along the edge of the Mount Kilimanjaro Forest Reserve. It is a moderate hike to one of the highest waterfalls around Kilimanjaro, with adequate places to rest, if needed. After, enjoy a delicious cultural lunch with a stunning view of Mount Kilimanjaro in Materuni Village. Afterward, transfer to Chemka Hot Springs (approx 1 hr, 45 min drive).
