We’ll start by heading north out of Dublin, driving along the scenic Dublin Bay coastal road. The views of the bay are breathtaking, especially on a sunny day, with the iconic Howth Head and its cliffs in the distance.
1st Stop
Summit Inn, Howth
The Summit Inn is perched high above Howth with stunning views of the sea and the rugged coastline. It’s the perfect place to grab a cold pint while gazing out over the picturesque Howth Head and Ireland’s East Coast.
1 hour and 30 minutes
2
Malahide
Next, we’re going to head north through the scenic coastal route, passing by beautiful beaches and quaint villages like Baldoyle, Portmarnock and Malahide. The drive along the coast offers views of both Ireland’s Eye and Lambay Islands, just off Howth and beautiful stretches of the Dublin’s coastline.
2nd Stop
The Pub, Malahide
Located in the heart of Malahide, this charming pub offers a fantastic place to relax with a pint in a cozy and inviting atmosphere. It’s known for its extensive range of local brews and traditional Irish pub fare.
After enjoying your pint, you can take a short walk-through Malahide Village and browse the shops.

Experience Glasnevin - Ireland's National Cemetery
Malahide to Glasnevin
On our way back towards Dublin and a stop off at the historic pub John Kavanagh’s (The Gravediggers Pub). This drive brings us back into Dublin's rich cultural and historical heartland
3rd Stop
The Gravediggers Pub 1833
The Gravediggers is the most famous and historic pub for the perfect pint in Dublin. Located next to Glasnevin Cemetery (1832), its name comes from the gravediggers who used to drink there. It’s been serving pints since 1833 and stepping inside feels like you’ve entered a time capsule of Dublin’s past.
The atmosphere is traditional and the service is famously welcoming. The pub has a laid-back vibe, making it the perfect place to enjoy your final pint with us while soaking up the rich history around you.
Be sure to step outside and admire the views of the cemetery (you can even spot some famous Irish figures buried there, including Michael Collins).
